Sands of Wingaersheek Beach

(Gloucester, MA)
The beach at Wingaersheek is wonderful in the summer with white sand, clear water, and huge rocks for children (and adults) to climb upon. This painting was completed in the fall when the beach is isolated and the painters can have the beach for ourselves. Here the shadows on the sand and the effects of the breeze on the grasses caught my attention.

I am a member of the North Shore Arts Association, the 8th Maine Painters and the Cape Ann Painters. I studied with the late Sister Vincent de Paul of Ipswich and have studied with Betty Lou Schlemm, of Rockport, for 30 years. I received some training at the Montserrat College of Art in Beverly, MA.

Currently, I work as an adjunct trainer of students studying to become school psychologists at William James College in Newton, MA. In addition, I am on the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts School Psychologists Association. My interests are in bullying, emotion regulation, and evidence based school counseling interventions. I have written three books that you can find here, here and here.
